"They graduated?! I can't believe it!"
Kay Lillibridge
In memory of Kay Lillibridge
Intro:
What happened to those slackers of yesteryear? Those otaku who slouched down in the front rows of Uris Media Room B or Goldwin Smith D? Where are they now? This page is dedicated to keeping track of those old, great CJAS members and helping them (us) keep track of each other through their (our) old age and fading memories and periods of unemployment.

Purpose:
Someday we'll have enough ex-members to do something cool like start a trust fund with a growth plan devised by all those CS majors in CJAS...enough $$$ for CJAS to kick the SAFC's collective butt! Or maybe we'll be able to start some kind of alumni network so that newly graduated alumni will have contact points all over the place. You know some of us otaku will end up in pretty weird places.

This site contains updated contact information pertaining to the email addresses and/or whereabouts of CJAS's graduated itinerant former members. Feel free to give them an email!

If you'd like to register with us, fill out this form.

After a too-long period of unemployment, I was about to start an MS in chemistry when I got a job with the Man. The benefits package is fairly unique, and even includes a free T-shirt with paid DEFCON admission. :)

Currently, my anime/manga interests include trying to get caught up on the three dozen volumes of Detective Conan on my to-read shelf.

Most memorable moment: On a night that we were showing Nausicaa, we discovered at the meeting that the tape we brought was unsubtitled and then quickly ran to the archive to discover that the club had several copies of Nausicaa ... all unsubbed. Fortunately, the evening was saved by John, who happened to have a subbed copy in his apartment. I think we showed the various extras and trailers from the Cowboy Bebop DVD during the downtime.

Pencil-necked geeks sit and chat.
Pan left to see Asian dudes who are obviously engineering and science students. Short Man skips in, dressed in matching sweatpants and sweatshirt, fanny-pack, and light-saber tube on his belt. He's an Asian LUKE SKYWALKER!
Cut to shot of doorway: A great hairy man walks in. He is wearing shorts in the dead of winter, and carries umbrella to ward off the snow.
Increase pace of cuts.
Cue discordant strings, begin crescendo.
jump cut to long-haired freak speaking zealously about anime.

I'm still in Japan, working with Java, JavaScript, Databases and SQL. I make the tools some people use to make ringtones in Japan and now Europe (Germany, The Netherlands, France and GB) and Korea too (and soon Taiwan if things go well). I love low level programming, music and Tae Kwon Do right now. I'm applying to grad school to do theoretical physics (unifying gravity and QM like probably everyone else). I just finished watching the entire Dragon Ball GT series rerun on SkyPa TV. Favorite manga is now HUNTER X HUNTER. Favorite animes are Chibi Marukochan, Kochi Kame, and Inuyasha. I also watch Conan regularly, its good Japanese practice.
